Kites have long been a favorite past time for generation’s young and old. Originally from China, they were made of silk and bamboo. In the past their aerodynamic surface and ability to overcome gravity made them a resourceful tool during rescue missions, military efforts and science discoveries! Today kites can be constructed in different shapes and printed in beautiful designs. They are used for festivals, traditional ceremonies and recreational fun.
On Sunday June 7th the Rocca Sisters & Associates are teaming up with The City of Burlington as the Presenting Sponsor of the 24th Annual Kite Festival! This fun filled day will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Brant Hills Park located at 2300 Duncaster Drive in Burlington. Events like these are our team’s way of saying thank you to the community for all of the support you have shown us, and for making us the #1 Team in Burlington for a fifth consecutive year (2010-2014).
Children are encouraged to bring their creativity as they will have the opportunity to design a free kite of their own through building and decorating (while supplies last). Attendees can also take part in fantastic face painting and community displays. Little ones will enjoy exciting balloon animals and there will be tasty treats to try as you walk through the festival.
Also, make sure to stop by the Rocca Sisters & Associates tent where we will be handing out an extra special treat for each child!
Don’t miss this great opportunity to get the family together and be out in the community. For more information on this and our other upcoming June events, visit our website www.RoccaSisters.ca. We’ll see you there!
Join us at the Moon in June Road Race on Saturday, June 6th! The exciting festivities will begin at 6:00 p.m. in beautiful Downtown Burlington and continue into the night.

What we sometimes forget is that it is a day to commemorate mothers everywhere; those that have come and gone and left their mark of unconditional love with us.
Having lost our mother Joan in May 2009 to ovarian cancer, we take this time to cherish her memory and gather with family to honour her life. Another year has passed us by and we continue to watch new generations flourish in our family.
Tanya welcomed a beautiful baby girl this past September. Miss Quinlan is bright eyed, bushy tailed and full of smiles. While Cathy is looking forward to experiencing Motherhood for the second time late this May, this time welcoming a baby girl. Cathy’s first child, son Gianluca Anthony, is anxiously awaiting the arrival of his new little sister.
We put to work all of the cherished lessons and values that we learned from our Mother. She was an incredible and inspirational role model.
Our love for our mom and respect for mothers everywhere has encouraged us to reach out to those in our community. We all have a story. If you would like to join us in our desire to educate others, raise awareness and help continue research for a cure for cancer, please contact us at 905-335-4102, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
