When does the Fall Real Estate Market begin? Now!

With the long sunny days and above seasonal temperatures we’ve been experiencing, it’s hard to believe that fall will ever arrive. Believe it or not, in real estate, the busy hustle and bustle of fall is already upon us. There is a misconception that heading into the cooler months is the wrong time to sell your home, but the Rocca Sisters & Associates urge you to put away your notions, and reap the rewards of selling in the fall.

There is really no benefit to staying in a home that is no longer right for your current or future needs, especially going into the winter months. The market is still very strong. The buyers are out in full force trying to take advantage of still very low rates, and also trying to capitalize on rates that have been locked in prior to the recent increases.

From an aesthetics point of view, STAGED & SOLD is our guarantee that your home will not suffer the weathering of the Fall and Winter months. Adding the right pop in the right place will provide all the curb appeal of a home listed in the colder months. It’s crucial for you to get your home ready now so that you can take advantage of buyers who are still looking to buy after missing out in the Spring and Summer months.

Here are just a few easy, inexpensive steps you can take now to prepare your home for the Fall market:

Start Packing Now

It may seem silly to start packing up your belongings before you even put your house on the market, however, it will help to make your life much easier in the long run. One of the most important parts of staging your home for a successful sale is to de-clutter and depersonalize so home buyers can envision themselves in the space. You also want your home to look as spacious as possible. By packing up articles that you don’t use every day, it will help you keep your home neat and tidy for showings & lessen the stress of packing come moving day.

Pay Attention to Curb Appeal

Potential home buyers can make up their mind on a home within seconds. Poor curb appeal could mean the difference between a buyer falling in love or continuing their drive without even stopping. Even when the trees are losing their leaves, simple touches like keeping your front porch, driveway and walkways tidy will influence first impressions. Ensuring that your lawn is well-maintained and that all Fall debris like fallen leaves, are raked up, is just as important. Adding a pop of Fall colour with mums can warm a front entrance and make the space inviting. Painting your front door or adding new door hardware can also help make a good first impression on the buyer while they are waiting for their agent to retrieve keys from the lockbox.

Clean like you have never cleaned before!

You want your home to be spotless from top to bottom for every showing and open house. A messy house can give buyers the impression that the house has not been well-maintained and cared for. Consider hiring a professional cleaner to give your home a good cleaning – it’s relatively inexpensive and will save you the hassle so that you can concentrate on decluttering instead.

The most important step in preparing for a successful fall sale is to find the perfect realtor. Bottom line is, there is never a bad time to sell if you list with the right Agent. Once you’ve sold, you will have the opportunity to find the home that suits you. As nationally-ranked, top producing agents, we will maximize the value of your most important asset. Fun was had by all who attended the Applefest Fall Fair this past Sunday at the Ireland House Museum located at 2168 Guelph Line in Burlington.

As the presenting Sponsor of this Museums of Burlington’s event, The Rocca Sisters were thrilled to take part in the harvest celebration that took place right in the heart of our community.

“We always enjoy expressing our sincere gratitude to the community for their generous support over the years and this past Applefest was no different,” says Cathy Rocca.

The sun shined bright and provided warmth and good cheer to fair goers as they took part in the vast array of activities and things to do.

“It was such a great day, filled with fun activities for the entire family,” says Cathy.

Children got their fill of fun with hay mazes, pony rides, colouring contests, free tattoos and games galore! Festival goers delighted in fantastic live entertainment, watched historic demonstrations, toured the Ireland House Museum, and even admired the antique cars. Those who brought their appetite enjoyed a country-style BBQ that served up the best of ‘Harvest Fare.’

The Rocca Sisters & Associates offered a creative, FREE colouring contest for all children to take part in as they visited their tent throughout the day.  Children took great pleasure in colouring and decorating their very own Trick-or-Treat Bag to use on Halloween night!

“The Fair is always a great opportunity to re-connect with members of our community who we have not seen for a while,” says Cathy. “Even to meet some new faces, new family members that we may not have met otherwise!”

Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed a fun-filled day within our community.  Planning has already started for the Santa Claus Parade!! We hope to see you all there!
