National Cut Your Energy Costs Day

This Sunday is ‘National Cut Your Energy Costs Day’ – an annual reminder to make your home energy efficient in an effort to help the environment and lower your monthly energy bills.

It is important to identify old, wasteful energy habits around the house. By being aware and making small changes, you could see a noticeable reduction on your energy bills.

Consider the following tips on reducing energy consumption in the home:

Crank down the thermostat by 2 degrees and wear a sweater if it is on the cooler side. To be honest, you won’t even know that it is 2 degrees colder in the house.

Economize your dishwasher.  Research has found that a dishwasher does a much better job at cleaning dishes and with less water than hand-washing, but make sure it is fully loaded before you switch it on.

Change your furnace filter – by doing this everyone 2 months, it can increase its efficiency by up to 50%.  An easy way to remember to do this is by setting up a reminder on your phone.

Know your off-peak period & set a timer.  Plan to do energy-intensive activities during off-peak periods such as showers & running appliances. You can also set a programmable thermostat so that the heat is reduced when you are not home and while you are sleeping.

Keep the heat in by weatherproofing your home – check for drafts and make sure your windows are insulated.  If you see any cracks, chalk them up!

Unplug those electronics when not in use. If you leave computer & phone chargers plugged into the wall when they aren’t in use, they are still using electricity.  Either take them out of the wall or use a power bar with an on/off switch.

Energy efficient lighting – replace incandescent light bulbs with CFL or LED bulbs.  The lower wattage uses less power and doesn’t let off as much heat.

Be sure to check out your energy providers’ website for their own tips on conserving energy.

Thank you for an incredible 2015

We would like to send a very big thank you to the community for once again making The Rocca Sisters & Associates the #1 Team in Burlington & area for a sixth consecutive year (2010-2015) and the #3 Team in all of Canada for Royal LePage based on sales production and volume (2015)!

We are excited to welcome 2016 with another year of accomplishments to reflect on and an eventful year ahead. Our Royal LePage National Sales Rankings have been released for 2015 and Rocca Sisters & Associates ranked #3 nationally for Royal LePage Canada, out of the approximately 16,500 sales representatives across the country. We also surpassed the prestigious threshold of over $1 Billion in Sales Volume (for 2005-2015 pending & closed properties) and had some record-setting sales achieving the highest residential sale prices ever recorded for the districts of Tyandaga & Dynes. This is a true honour, and all of us here at Rocca Sisters & Associates are both excited and appreciative to have concluded another successful year.

The year ahead will bring us many more opportunities to do what we love, and that is helping people in our community. In our recent Rocca Sisters & Associates 2016 planning meeting, we discussed what our visions are as a team for our community and our clients. How many families are we going to help this year? What community events will we proudly put our name to? These are all things that will make the difference in 2016, and this is what we look forward to.

What sets us apart from many other professionals is our ability to embrace change at many different levels.  Change is the one constant; therefore, it is essential that we continually refine our client systems in order to meet the ever changing client expectations. In the year ahead, we will continue to be innovators in the industry and provide all of our clients with an experience that is not just the best, but remarkable!

We personally oversee every listing and keep our clients well informed throughout the whole process which leads to many long lasting relationships with our valued clients.

We would like to thank all of our incredible clients for your support and referrals throughout 2015, as it is your support that continues to drive our success allowing others to experience firsthand our unique and genuine approach to buying and selling.  Our relationships truly recommend us as the majority of our business is done with repeat clients and referrals to their family & friends. We look forward to serving you, your family & your friends in 2016!

Happy Holidays from the Rocca Sisters & Associates

Christmas is finally here – our favourite time of year!  A time for celebrating and sharing, a day that is filled with love, joy and peace.  Family & friends gathering together to exchange gifts and enjoy food and fellowship.

It is also the season for giving back to those who need it most.  Giving back to the community is important all-year-round, but what better way to spread Christmas cheer than through giving this holiday season.

The Rocca Sisters & Associates truly believe that giving back strengthens communities, brings people together, and provides opportunities to learn and grow.  It is a passion of ours! We are so thankful for our community and the support that we receive through recommendations and referrals.  It is from these relationships that we gain the majority of our business and because of this we strongly feel that it is our responsibility to help those in need and to support wherever possible.

Thanks to your support, we have had the privilege to support many local communities such as The Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation, McMaster Children’s Hospital, the Juravinski Cancer Centre, Ovarian Cancer Canada, The Carpenter Hospice, The Lighthouse Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy Canada, Museums of Burlington and The City of Burlington.

This holiday season, we encourage you to get involved in a community outreach program or an international charity, and give your time to help those in need so that they too can have a wonderful holiday. In the Spirit of Christmas, may we remember the importance of the act of giving.

From our family to yours, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and look forward to continuing to serve you & your family in the New Year!
